The originator of our shop is Marie McDonald. In 1957, Marie developed a love for flowers. She started opening a florist-like shop on her very own front porch. Marie's husband never did like the front porch boxed in with the flowers, but how could he take away Marie's flower shop? In 1999, her husband had the old flower shop torn out of the porch and put the original porch back. Not to be deterred, Marie came up with a new plan. She had the flower shop built onto the backside of the house off the porch. It was built so Mother and Daddy at their age could walk from the den out to the flower shop. Her dreams had finally come true. Marie's Flowers is currently blooming all over Tupelo and is the most traditional shop in the county. Marie is now 95 years old as of December 6, 2016, and her flower shop is still turning out stunning floral arrangements at Marie's Florist, 1244 W Jackson Street in Tupelo, Mississippi.
